I’m excited to announce that I had the honor of curating episode 05 of Voices Radio Maferefun, a show hosted by the incredible Vivian Moinelle. Vivian, an amazing human being and an extraordinary artist, has always inspired me with her deep passion for Cuban culture and music. I’m so grateful to her for trusting me with this special episode while she embarks on the next steps of her journey with Maferefun.
Vivian and I go way back—we met as teenagers at the Amadeo Roldán Conservatory, and since then, our friendship has grown alongside our love for music. As Vivian beautifully said: “Abel is one of the best musicians I know... a pianist, composer, researcher, educator, and a passionate connoisseur of Cuban music.” Those words mean the world to me, and I’m humbled to be part of this project.
